my name is Jamila and I’m a product
developer for women’s tops I focused
primarily on denim tops and my work as a
product developer involves taking an
idea from the designer and turning it
into an actual tangible product that’s
getting sold in the store it can be very
complicated yes each season there are
new Styles new fabrics and new ideas
that all need to be created and turned
into products at every single step
there’s a lot of details that are
involved so this is our first time
one of the great things about my job is
that on any given day I’m doing
something different I go to a lot of
fittings over fitting photos to make
sure the styles it correctly that looks
great when they’re being worn I spend
time reviewing denim finishing and I
just spend a lot of time with our
designers and merchandisers just working
on getting the products ideas really
clarified so that the manufacturers the
best parts of my job are getting to work
with some pretty amazing people I love
working with people all over the world
and knowing that I get to hear different
languages and different accents every
day with who I’m working with and it’s
so fun to go into a store and see a
product that I was involved with one of
the big reasons that I work at Levi’s is
a lot of the values that this company
has are in line with the values that I
have and one of those things especially
is through opportunities for
volunteering every Levi’s employee is
encouraged to volunteer within their
community and that’s one of the values
that I highly regard in my life and in a
company and I wouldn’t want to work for
a company that didn’t have that I do
enjoy my job there’s definitely a lot of
challenges but I’ve never had a job
where there were challenges and every
day I just I get to work with a lot of
really passionate and interesting people
and put out a really great product
