my first time coming out was shortly
after arriving in college and realizing
that being gay wasn’t just a slur it was
actually rather enforceable that were
like me and so having been exposed to
that for the first time in my life I
realized that’s what if I’d to me and I
heard about National Coming Out Day and
decided that would be the day that I
said the words
in the mirror to myself being out and
working for a company that allows you to
be out is incredibly important me being
open queer man is integral to my
well-being my dad once said to me the
truth doesn’t mean much if you only use
it one
convenient and I have found that it’s
really important to me to be honest with
myself but now that I have children I
think it’s even more important for me to
be authentically Who I am so I’m setting
the right example for them so thirty
years ago for National Coming Out Day I
was writing my coming-out letter to my
parents and the Loma Prieta earthquake
happened so that postponed things and
eventually I finished the letter and
came out we all survived working for
Levi Strauss and code gives me the
opportunity to be out to be allowed and
to be truly queer
