Community Day | Volunteer

when you look at the important
milestones and Levi Strauss & Co whose
history desegregating our factories long
before it was law standing up for those
affected by HIV and AIDS and the 80s
were participating in the women’s March
in recent years these were all really
moments that were driven by employees
who stood up for what they believed in
and encouraged the company to get
involved Community Day is one of those
days in 2000 we had the first what we
called volunteer day then we’re
employees in San Francisco went out and
volunteered for what they cared about
this then expanded to Singapore and
Brussels and by 2008 every country where
we have business operations whether it
be corporate retail factory or
distribution centers participated today
in 2019 we have 4,000 employees
volunteering at more than 150 projects
around the world and since community
day’s inception in 2001 we have given
almost 6 million dollars to
organizations globally I think my
favorite part of the day is seen the
pictures roll in from all around the
world of our employees really giving
back to the issues that they care about
and I think we as a company needs to
remember that it’s not just on community
that we give back but we can really make
an impact on the causes that we care
about all year long
