Transcript

I’m excited today to host our senior
vice president of design and innovation
here at Levi’s Jonathan Chung we’re
going to take a look at one of his
favorite pieces in the archives the
spring bottom pants which dates to 1889
almost 130 years ago I almost had that
almost like a 10-year relationship with
this this company one of my very few
like of professional ambitions but one
of them as a die-hard denim nerd was to
step foot into the device seriously and
this is pre Levi’s right a spring bottom
pan shows this bridge this is
in-betweener
between like our hard core work we’re
right there kind of riveted overall
tight going down and you know going down
a mineshaft type work where to this
think that anyone that’s you know has
any love of tailoring instantly
recognizes as a tailoring piece right
just the detail right and as we go onto
the insides and we you know the the
cuffs and the own the needs of this this
is a story of a piece of clothing that
is so rich in detail and and so
inspiring for many things so I you know
as a designer for made it crafted I took
those pockets and put them on amazing
cross Japan it’s an amazing hand off
right as an amazing hand off from a
creative moment of the past to a
creative moment of the future I think
that’s something very beautiful as well
and and it will keep doing that you know
because this plant will be doing that a
lot after I’ve gone you know sorry see

it’s an amazing thing
